September 13, 2013 Washington Tour and Arlington National Cemetary

Today, Ron took a bus tour of the city...

U.S. Post Office Building

Navy Memorial

Statutes EVERY....WHERE

The Capital is just one impressive site no matter how many times you see it....

Union Station, transportation hub for the city...

Capital from Reflecting Pool

I've been in the Capital for work so many times I passed this trip, maybe next time....

Arlington National Cemetery

One very impressive cemetery, for lots of reasons

many headstones only have a number, but we won't forget what each one stands for....

The rolling hills of Arlington are just a beautiful resting place....

JFK's Eternal Flame

General Robert E. Lee's homestead...

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Changing of the Guard.

This is one impressive activity to see....

and although I've seen it a couple times before it just doesn't lose it's impact....

24  X 7 X 365.... no matter what, this tomb is under guard...

The Tomb has a great view of the Washington

Memorial Amphitheater

Another to be memorialized...our sincere thanks for your service to our country.

there are reportedly multiple services every day

the Postal museum fills a block, didn't go in this trip, maybe next time....

Christopher Columbus Memorial Fountain at Union Station..

I seem to recall that this is a memorial to the civil war...
